The trend for Danish companies has passed. Nowadays, companies are used more often than partnerships (APS) – due to issues surrounding the opening of bank accounts.
⚠️ If the structure is tax-transparent (involving non-residents, offshore companies or individual partners), banks and payment systems start asking questions: how exactly the business operates, and whether corporation tax is being paid.
💡 Therefore, it is often easier to find a ‘middle ground’ – such as Bulgaria or Hungary, with a corporation tax rate of 9–10 per cent – than to disclose a transparent structure.
🇷🇴 Romania is a separate and interesting case: the tax rate for micro-companies is 1 per cent of revenue (not profit) on turnover up to €500k – this is convenient if the product is already ready and does not require significant expenditure.
🇬🇧 The UK – has a solid reputation, is well-suited to start-ups and partnerships, but is more expensive to administer (particularly in terms of audits) and more complicated when it comes to opening a local bank account compared to Hungary or Turkey.
📌 The main recommendation is to look at the business model: how much expenditure needs to be covered, whether there is already a finished product, and to choose a jurisdiction accordingly.
